Brilliant. Anyone else have any photos of old instruments?

No doubt I should be appreciative of all things which incorporate my name in theirs, but I'm afraid this isn't one of them. And isn't it really rather shocking the way some attractive little things will allow themselves to be squeezed and caressed for hours on a man's knee without his even knowing their name?
(Steven, if I could play this accordion - or indeed any instrument- I dare say I too wouldn't give a monkey's how it's spelt).

[Oops - 'accordian' was my phonetically plausible attempt at the spelling. - Steven

Are there any photos of local dance bands of the 1960s 1970s going about?
Added by Anon on 12 April 2012
Plausible Steven but not pitch-perfect. If we went around calling ourselves Orcadions I think our fellow islanders would regard us with a quizzical eye.

As regards Anon's query, I tried typing 'band' and 'dance band' into the OIL search box on his or her behalf and came up with nothing helpful. Yet I know there are pics of local bands on this site.
By the way, when you type something into 'Advanced Search' and draw a blank you are asked whether you want to use Advanced Search. If you then type in 'I JUST DID, YOU SILLY B . . .' you get no response. I wonder why this is.

[1. I'm going to retitle the picture 'Squeezebox'
2. Advanced search looks in the comments as well so should pick up 'band'. But you'll find such pictures in the 'Music' group if you want to do a bit of sifting.
3. It was remiss of me not to have a series of abusive responses programmed for profane searches. I'll put that on the slate for Orkneycommunities 4.0 in 2015.

Coincidence or what? I've just read an interview with Pamela Stephenson in the current issue of Radio Times in which she says (with reference to her husband Billy Connolly's favourite instrument) her definition of PERFECT PITCH is when you toss a banjo into a skip and it hits an ACCORDION [my capitals]. I would defend to the death her right to express that view, particularly in such well-chosen words.
