This was a photo our late mother had on the wall and shows the new lifeboats arrival in 1970 she was so proud that she had a son on each boat as they came into the pier.

On the inside is the Hilton Briggs the ex Aberdeen Boat which reopened the station, brother Tony was engineer on board, next in the middle is the David and Elizebeth King, brother Billy helped to bring her from Poole, Dorset, and on the outside the ex Thurso boat we took over as they got a new Solent Class the same time as Longhope. I was onboard
her.
Next day we delivered The Hilton Briggs and the ex Thurso boat to Buckie.

Incidentally some time ago there was talk of the end of the North Ness Pier and as to when it fell over - well it can be clearly seen in this photo so must have been after 1970.
