Rudge 250cc motorbike that my father, Walter Ross, had. The child is Eric Wilson, Bulwark, as neighbour in Crockness.

Comments:
I mind an uncle of mine with an old Rudge not unlike this one, but probably a bit older as it had a hand gear change. The registration number was BS 1489

Is the date a guess Jane ? I am plder than the late Eric and I was born in 1940, I have vague memory of your dad having a Rudge as I said in your last motor bike pic, so think it could be more like 1945 or later even.... any more oldies?

Yes date is a guess and if I'd thought about my father's age, I'd have realised it must be later as I don't think he would have had a motorbike in his teens. Probably mid/late 1940s then.
