In a comment just posted on picture #12049 I referred to Harry Berry and Rev Kenwood Bryant, adding I couldn't recall the source of my info. The penny finally dropped: most of it came - surprise, surprise! - from the information-board beside the grave itself, which I'd forgotten I photographed more than 23 years ago. I was wildly out in my recollection of the interval between promise and fulfilment.
NB Betty's surname has two Ls, not one - as I and others wrote it previously. Both forms exist today, according to the phonebook.
