After WW2 a series of Welcome Home dinner/ dances to were held in the old Kirkwall & St Ola Community Centre on Great Western Road. My father was the caretaker of that establishment. It was at these affairs that I heard my first dance bands and got hooked.
I wonder if anyone took any photos?
