View of KGS and Papdale from cathedral tower

The old KGS was still in use as a secondary school when I took this photo, but I think the primary classes had moved out the year before, in 1962. (The infants had moved out in 1955.)The new schools can be seen in the distance at Papdale (just about). In the latter days of the old KGS several annexes were in use. The wooden huts to the left of the main buildings in the picture housed, in my day, Primary 7B (Mrs.Gibson) to the left of the stairs and 7A (Pansy Taylor) to the right. The concrete hut in the boys’ playground (now carpark) had Primary 6A (Mrs.Gordon) to the left and presumably 6B and 6C in the other two rooms. When the primary classes moved out the leftmost room became a Music room (Mr. Ian Cruikshanks) and the rightmost a Commercial room (Miss Mainland).
