Model horse

Further to my recent comment on picture #25304 - and before I have second thoughts - here is my last remaining model horse. I intended it to be an Arabian, but it came out looking more like a not-very-stylish Welsh Mountain Pony (head too big, for one thing). Picture taken 2010, but model made around 1993 (out of 19 separate pieces of joiner's softwood, one bit of old mahogany chair-leg for the head, two large-headed pins for the eyes, some plastic wood, sand to cover the base, a few coats of sealant and some paint. Oh, and two dabs of my wife's clear nail-varnish to make the eyes glisten.) If not specifically an Orkney subject, at least it was made in Orkney. It stands just one hand high at the withers (4").
