Salving the German Fleet

My cousin Colin McKay sadly died recently and his son Gordon has given me and the Lifeboat Museum his vast collection of photos and his collection of books and memorabilia relating to Orkney.

Colin was born in Caithness but as a young man he came to work on Hoy and loved the place, and it is I think fitting that that all that dedication to his second home is now back with us and I hope to share some of it with this site in the future as a tribute to my dear cousin Colin.
