Mason's mark?

Mason's mark?
This bit of sandstone with the mason’s mark (?) was discovered in Leslie Fettes’s garden wall (facing in the way) when they rebuilt it. Its proximity to the Cathedral makes you wonder. I wonder if Leslie will adopt this mark in the execution of his duty?

Comments:
There is a similar cross within the cathedral that is credited as a Maltese cross. Slightly different though and formerly used by the Knights of Malta

Hi there, this cross is to tell you who owns the wall. It should only be on the one side of the wall if you look. The one with the cross on their side owns the wall.
