Think the second from the left might be George Eunson

Sorry, my memory failed me. It is George Eunson and, in the middle is Stewart Rosie, not Bertie Rosie. Both brothers worked at Baikies.

I'm very sorry, Ian, I don't have any more photos from Baikie's Woodyard.

Where was the wood yard located?

[It became Brownlees, then Jewsons, so it was most of the rectangle bounded by Junction Road, West Castle Street, Great Western Road and Burnmouth Road. - Steven]

People tend to forget that there were two woodyard yards on that side of Junction Road - the other one being Peace's next to Nicolson's garage. And yes before anyone writes in the Post Office IS on a Site which was Peace's woodyard too on the opposite side of the road. The corner of Junction Road and West Castle had the offices of Baikies which at one time was the site of Farrow's Bank which went bust in 1922. And continuing down West Castle St you came to the store of Wm Duncan Reid on the corner with Great Western Road.
Baikie's was founded by an illegitimate son of Capt. John Baikie who established the National Bank in Kirkwall in 1825. Baikie first had his office on Broad St. and workshops on Ayre Road before moving to the site on Junction Road in the 1880's.
