Comments:
In the 1920s or early 30s the Longhope Lifeboat searched tae the east o Copansay for a vessel that was missing, or maybe distress signals were seen- not to sure on the facts. After many hours of searching they returned tae Longhope and I have heard fae owld folk that the crew were so cowld they had to be helped ashore.
Nothing was ever heard or found of the vessel and some time latter a name plate was washed ashore and on it was the name "Tamax" or "Tameray" . It was thought to be a Norwegian boat. Now I wonder if these parts washed onto Westray might be from the same wreck.
Anyone oot there hiv any info on my quest on the "Tamerx" or "Tameray".
