Photo taken,Sep.1957,Thorfinn Football Club dance in the Cosmo Ballroom,for a Miss Thorfinn competition.The lineup of Ladies taking part are from the front,Rhoda Liddle,Rita Donaldson,Margaret Russell,Dorothy Newlands,Mara Brodie,Catherine Farquhar,Ruth Donaldson.I see some men over on the ladies' side,strictly taboo unless a contest was on,in the bottom left corner is David Watt and 3rd.further down is Ken Martin,right down at the left side of the door is Ronald Sabiston with the flashy Tie, half way down on right side holding the bucket is a young Ernie Donaldson.This Photo brings back many happy memories of the"Cosmo" in particular,it had the best dance floor of any in Orkney,being built as a Skating Rink in the late 30s'.Added by Phil Brough.
