Old Deerness School

Inside the old Deerness school. It would be interesting to hear memories from folk who were pupils there.

Comments:
I can remember when these stoves were fitted in Stenness School.I think they ran on coke or something. Anyway I can remember us all standing in a row and the fumes from the fire made some of us pass out.No much heat either and you had to try and dry your coats and boots at the fire. School buses only took kids that lived 3 miles from the school in these days. Happy days 'NOT'.

This must be the fire in the 'peedie room'. I remember the teacher being Mrs Bews and she also took you for sewing and knitting. I remember sewing a blue lapbag and a white cookery apron.
