Hae, Stewart such medals were not given at the South Side School- at least I never saw one!!. I think all pupils at whur school were gold medelists!!.(I might be a bit bias)!!.
My brother Billy was awarded the Dux prize at the North Walls School maybe around 1952-55 (secondary) but only received a cheap book on boxing as a prize. The Head Master didn't like pupils who came from the other schools on the island, thinking only pupils from North Walls school had been given a good education at primary level. Oh whur family were not bitter (girr)!!.
