Party on top of Ward Hill, Hoy 1920s (?) This was obviously taken on the same trip as my previous post. My aunt and her friend seem to have fallen by the wayside. My guess that the photographer was a woman is clearly nonsense. A bit of hat-swapping further confuses the picture. Of course, a gentleman wouldn't think of going hill-climbing without waistcoat, collar & tie.

Ian, do you know the names of those in the picture? The gentleman sitting towards the front looks very like a young Norrie Cumming. The other seated male also looks familiar although I cannot place him.

No Lex, as I said about the Dwarfie Stane picture, I could only name two people, neither of whom is in this pic. The topmost woman looks like Germaine Greer, but I think we can rule her out. I agree about Norrie, but would the date (which we're only guessing at) fit?

No, Ian, I'm sure my suggestion must be wrong! Norrie would be in his late 80s, possibly early to mid 90s, should he have lived and that certainly does not equate to the era you give! Nevertheless, the resemblance is striking and many thanks for stirring old memories.
