A stunning Short Eared Owl, the picture was taken 29 Sept 08 near Burray. An unusually accommodating owl just sitting and staring directly at me, he privileged me with this picture!

He must be on commission from the the tourist board, one vole for every photo that gets published!

Great shot! Taken from a car? Why do they never sit still for ME?

Hi Ian
I know talk about a jammy shot, I passed the owl in the car, I turned round went back, turned round again so the Owl would be on the drivers side. The Owl would have been about 100yards away, I used a 70-300 zoom. I must say what a compliant Owl, just waiting for me like that! I managed to get 3 shots and got another shot in the distance which I might add later.
All the best
Paul
