Men's New Year's Day Ba 1909, mainly spectators, won by the Uppies-
winner William Harrison.
No details of the action but as a matter of interest, this particular Ba was played for again in the year 1947,when it was donated by Wm. Harrison.
After WW2 it was the custom to ask for previous winners to donate Ba's because of the shortage of leather to make new ones.
In this instance William duly threw up the ba, and again it went up street to the "Wall".
The second uppie to win this particular ba was "Alie" Groundwater I believe.
