Eye of the Wind

I have a niece who was a crew member on this splendid sail training ship, a square rigger and the last true Brigantine in the world. The ship had sailed all over the world. My niece Angela got married to Benny who was Bosun and second mate on the ship. They were married in the Church in Orphir and then a wedding reception and cocktail party with 100 guests and a jazz band on board at Stromness harbour over the weekend. It was a night to remember on a beautiful night. The Eye of the Wind had made the trip back to Orkney especialy for the occasion.

Comments:
This boat also featured in the film White Squal. I have been aboard it in Cadiz, Spain and raced against it in the Tall Ships race to Bermuda. The Bosun and Engineer were from Shetland. A lovely boat. I'll post some photos of her in full sail when i get a chance.
