Paul writes (of the top picture):
"Amongst all the pictures you have of the top end of Junction Road at the Phoenix, you don't have one looking in this direction. It shows Rossland Garage as built in 1951. On the left is Findlay's builder's yard and on the right the wall of William Shearer ironmonger's back garden. The car registered BS 3690 is a 1950 Phase IV Hillman Minx."
When I saw that the building was scratch-coated on the side wall [writes Steven the Administrator] I thought to myself that it was still like that so went down last night to have a look (bottom picture). Remarkably unchanged!
