I dont believe it! Thats the phrase that came to mind the other day when I realised that 10 years have passed since Dougie Shearers beloved Phoenix Cinema showed its final film The Land Girls on 28th November 1998.
This front view of the cinema was taken by Phoenix Photos and shows the original 'Phoenix' sign.
The Phoenix disappeared completely at the end of 2004 when it was demolished to make way for housing.

Back in the late 50s and early 60s the show cases either side of the entrance would have postcard size prints from the films being shown. Dougie gave me some of the Elvis pictures at that time. Not sure now where they are.
