It is up the close at 34 Victoria Street behind which is now part of the Orkney Hotel. In the 1940's this was the access stairs to three fsmilies. Top floor Bill Sinclair and the Laughton family, 3rd floor up Mr & Mrs Jim Rosie & family, 2nd floor Mrs Flett a widow wife and the ground floor part of the Royal Hotel Bar.

There's obviously been too many starry eyed folk up this lane to fool anybody.

We reslated the roof's shown while the hotel was undergoing renovations. The spiral staircase was a well used tradesmans material route in for works within. Duncan Gray was our apprentice at the time along with the owners son ross spence they fully understood the phrase "step aerobics" after taking a pallets of plasterboard up the spiral staircase during renovations.
