The Triumph Herald 13/60 as seen on the right was first manufactured in 1967. One in Kirkwall was registered BBS 1F, if I remember right.

It must be at least 64 as the b reg was 64 and I don't think the Cortina is new.
Added by William Watters on 03 September 2008
The bike does not have a front basket frame as George Sinclairs would have had.

I think the chap pushing the bike could have been Willie Wick, the barber, who had a shop in the building now occupied by Tankerness House Museum.

I seem tae mind Wullie Wick as much peedier than that bloke.

Must be late sixties, as Cortina has "new" style plates, ie black letters on white/reflective background. These were legal requirement from 1972, but were optional from after 67 or 68. So it can't be earlier!.
