This is my grt. grandfather, James Cromarty Taylor. I am guessing this was taken around 1950, don't know the location of the beach or who the little girl is. Maybe a niece? He was in his nineties when he died in 1957.

JCT lived in Massachusetts in 1950, so this pic is of a later date. He passed away in Widewall, in February 1957.

James C Taylor returned to South Ronaldsay about 1951, having emigrated to Boston Mass, USA, in 1884. Had shop as Taylor the Tailor. Training, apprenticeship was in Kirkwall.
