This is a photograph of a painting done by Harry Berry it depicts a rescue done by the T.G.B to a vessel broken down west of Torness.
I think the boat was from Faroe or Iceland- someone may remember.
Old Harry was a great guy he would be down as soon as the boat came in to get the details of the rescue, and off he went to get it onto canvas. He must have done hundreds of paintings over the years and raised a lot of money for the RNLI.
If you would like to see more of Harry's work then come along to the Lifeboat Musuem during the month of August, as there is an exhibition of some of his works on show there.

He told me he only painted one facial portrait and was not to happy about it. One time coming home from the Faroe fishing grounds I came through Hoy Sound and gave him fish for his freezer. one of my i which I did frequently. His garage was full of paintings to which he told me to come back and collect. This I did not do, ashamed to say. In one storm I sought refuge in Stromness,I was told Harry was in the old folks home, going up to visit him I noticed some photos of his paintings all round him, he used to send me a few already framed to which I have given a few away in years past. I have one which is not of my trawlers but of fishing sailboats in a storm, he named it "Heavy with herring".He had the reddest cheeks you could imagine. Then I sailed he died days later, God bless him:
