I have heard this was one of the first scottish boats to be fitted for purse netting, dont know if that is correct.
It is sad to see these old boats just left to rot away but it is no different from the herring drifters that were lying around fifty years ago only then folk broke them up and used the wood for fence posts fire wood etc, Now we are too well off to waste nothing as our father and grand fathers did. Many a usfull shed was made from a upturned herring boat, a few are still around today.

Mfv. Prowess. Designed as a seiner/drifter but finished as a purser trawler for skipper gearge west and partners 1967.
