The date is actually 1919, as can be seen in the bottom right corner

They were discovered 31st March 1919 and initially examined by Dr Robert Heddle on 2nd April 1919. Discovered by clerk of works who noticed some facing stones on the large south pier were loose. He pushed a footrule between the stones and struck the wooden box containing a variety of bones. Photograph must have been taken on the day that they were examined by Dr Heddle
