Jimmy Thomson

This is whur ither Uncle Jimmy Thomson. Jim wiz a right "twister" aye hivan a fun on someen but a very likable chap.
Jim had a varied life, he worked at many jobs. He was on the Fishery Protection boats and also was fireman on the North Isles boats, and for a time stoked the boilers at the Glaitness Laundry! Among other varied employment.
I have spoken in the past about grandad's skills at building work- behind Jim is the newly built porch built onto The Burnhouse, and you can see how tightly laid are the stones in the wall. He was a slow but very skilled mason and was as good at wood working.

Comments:
Bonnie built porch right enough and no problems with planning permission back then!
