I think there is a Tom Kent picture of George Rendall's previous shop, further up on the other side of the street where the Abbey National is now, taken after it had been burnt down. I wonder if that fire explains the rather odd way in which the building next door now occupied by Trenabies has been altered between the dates of these two photos. Tt can't have been for street widening because the ground floor remains the same, as does the chimney breast, but the rest of the upper gable has been moved back several feet (hmmm, maybe I should get out a bit more).
