Stromness Harbour

Earl of Zetland in Stromness,(date is a guess). Was this after her P&O Days, or was she deputising for the St Ola? But she would be at the wrong pier for that?

Must be about 1974 when she was working as a dive support ship during the building of the SPM moorings for Flotta terminal. Think she was called the Celtic Surveyor, and remember two divers were drowned in the pipeline when she was on station.

late 75 probably more accurate. ship inside her would have been "Aldanny" or "Albenny" which were coasters chartered to take construction material to Flotta from Peterhead and other places.
Supply vessel stern in foreground possibly "Sea Viking" owned by Bugge of Tonsberg which served the Micoperi crane barge used on SPM construction.
