I remember my father taking the old lady next door to us to visit the lady who lived here in the 50's

I spent many a happy childhood day playing in this house, and the surrounding area....

Is there any recorded history of the cottage ruins..I'm looking for a Johnston homestead from about 1750.... could this be it?
Added by Richard Johnston on 14 February 2013
Sorry Richard, I don't think that any Johnstons lived there. My family, the Groundwaters, lived there for many generations, back to at least the early 1800s. It is Scorriedale.
My grandparents used this as a sort of holiday home in the early fifties. It may have been them that Willie met. It became a ruin soon after.
