TB Pavilion at Scapa

A Tom Kent picture, date unknown, though the pavilion opened in 1924. This was converted from the buildings of the seaplane station in picture #769 .
Picture added on 27 May 2005
Comments:
I notice the photo of the scapa seaplane station, of which this was part, is still one of your top three favourites.

I remember it well!! this was a stones throw from the house where I was born, nether scapa, and was built on one of the fields of nether scapa. the building in the background was used as the laundry and the small building extreme right was the janitor's workshop and store. the roof in particular looks to be a bit decrepit but another of tom kent's photos, reproduced on page 156 of "shoal and sheaf" shows the building in better condition. I also remember the water-bound macadam road, and the time when the first chip and coal-tar surface was applied. as kids we made good use of the empty tar drums as can be seen from a photo of mine elsewhere in the collection.
