Heather writes:
'Loved the website so thought Id donate some of my own. My mother is Fay Scarth, whose father was Alexander Scarth of Binscarth, and I have attached here several photos including some of my grandparents and their relations that I hope you and the website visitors might enjoy. Amongst them my fathers brother Bob and their cousin Henry William (of Breckness), both of whom were to later serve as Lord Lieutenant. We still have relations in Orkney and look forward to seeing them again this summer when we visit.'

Hi Heather - I've come across your fab photos while researching my family - My great grandmother was Isabella Abel - Emily Scott Abel's sister - so I think we are cousins of some sort. Although I live in Australia, my mum and brother are still in Shetland living at Sandlodge. So hi! I knew there was connection with Orkney - but good to confirm it!

Your mother, Fay Scarth, and grandfather , Alexander Drysdale Scarth are part of our family tree. You great grandfather, Robert Scarth 2nd of Binscarth, was a half sister to my great grandmother , Jane Jessie Scath. I have enjoyed the photos you have posted and will be seeing Margaret Lendrum Bell (Aunt Magde) 's grand daughter, Marna Barbour and her family this summer when we are in the UK. Would love to hear from you.
