Comments:
We enjoyed a good day aboard this ship way back in the 1970s when the crew of the Stromness Lifeboat were invited for soft drinks.

I first saw her in 1967 when she came into Addu Atoll lagoon, Maldive Islands, presumably to refuel from the tanker hulk RFA Wave Victor anchored there. I was serving at RAF Gan at the time, but despite being the only real-life Stromnessian within a thousand-mile radius, wasn't lucky enough to get on board. I'll try to post a photo from back then.

I was onboard RFA Stromness when the ship visited Stromness in 1976 but can't remember the dates. Can anyone help with the dates please

I remember her in Durban 1971/2 when she was serving on the Beira Blockade of goods going to Rhodesia. She called regularly for supplies. One of the crew I met was the ship's medic, called Dr Frischmann, if I remember correctly.
