In this photo you can see the first linkspan in stromness and wilson stores and auld vans. The front of the red vehicle i think may be the pier crane.

yes john thats the delightful, the boat with the creels onboard astern is the golden way.

At the time this pcture was taken I think George & Frank Sinclair owned the Delightful. After they built the Girl Marion the Delightful was used as a tender to the dredger that was in Stromness Harbour working at that time.
Unfortunately she foundered in Hoy Sound on October 27th 1977 with the loss of her skipper/owner Brian Thorpe and his crewman Norbert Kunkel
