Demolition of Albert Kinema

Kenny writes:
'Although it was destroyed by fire in 1947, the 'shell' of The Albert Kinema in Albert Street was not demolished until the early 1970's when the site was bought by Templetons Supermarket. The photograph shows demolition work in progress. Like The Phoenix Cinema, The Albert Kinema was established by D. B. Peace and company (Pictures) Ltd. both now sadly gone. Photo by Phoenix Photos.'

Comments:
The contractor was Orkney Builders that carried out the site clearance because i remember being there with my Grandfather, Calvin A T V Slater (senior) who was the Lorry Driver.
