Yeah Lindsay, or even art form. I was thinking about such matters when I uploaded picture #4132. I wrote my name on a school desk once. Retribution was sore - very sore.

Vandalism then, history now. One day in the 1890s Sheriff Armour (see picture #4492) went up the tower of the Cathedral and arrived at the top just in time to find a youth from Aberdeen scratching his initials on one of the spire slates. The youth promptly found himself in the Sheriff Court on a charge of malicious mischief. His claim that there were lots of other names already scrawled there (including, he said, Prince Albert's) proved no excuse.
