Christine Swanney now Mrs Brian Butler

This photo was taken on 29 March 1968 at a meal, I think in the Ayre Hotel, before they came to the reception following our wedding at the Albert Hotel.

The picture was taken in the Kirkwall Hotel, but I had forgotten that we went on from the meal to Christine's wedding reception.

A blast from the past when I saw this: I worked in the telephone exchange. Irene Pottinger was my Supervisor....but she sadly passed away...early in life, and Evelyn Sinclair became Supervisor in her place. Maureen Linklater/Swanney I recall well. This post is so old I have no hope of finding my friends from the old Telephone Exchange days.

Anna, still on the go are Norma, Evelyn, Helen, Francis and Maureen. Not sure about Anne but I think she is still with us. Christine passed away a few years ago

Thanks for your reply: sorry to hear Christine has passed. My time in Kirkwall Exchange was a little after the pic above. Spent 12 happy years there. Marlene Halcro was another name I recall.....any news on where she is now. Cannot believe it's been 40 years since my telephone days....so many stories:)

Marlene still lives in Kirkwall. Mrs Sutherland now.

Modification to my last comment. it's Arlene married to Billy Sutherland, Marlene is in Aberdeen somewhere.
