Gerwin Farm Buildings

Gerwin is what was the Wilson family farm in Orphir and was run by Mary Wilson (ms Shearer) who was my mother’s grandmother. I remember spending holidays at the farm with my mother Norna after the farm had transferred to Joe and Annie Hourston, when all these buildings were in use.

Comments:
My name is Jim Bowman, my father was working with the Navy during the war and he managed to get my Mum and I a room with Mrs Wilson which was the building with the red roof. we must have stayed there from 1940 to maybe 1945. I came up from Kelso in 1953/4 to stay with Joe and Annie, my parents kept in contact with Annie till she passed away, I last saw Annie in Kinlochleven in I think it was 1979. The picture has brought back many happy memories. My last visit to Gerwin was about 8 years ago, it's changed since that picture was taken.
