Hall of Clestrain open day 6

The John Rae Society had an open day at the Hall of Clestrain on Sunday 23rd July 2017. They hope to raise £200,000 fairly quickly to secure the purchase of the building and make it wind and watertight, then over a longer period raise up to £5M to restore the building and create a museum and visitor attraction.

To our surprise and delight we were allowed up the stairs to the floor above the basement, which is at the top of the entrance steps, which I will call the ground floor, even though it is half a floor above the ground.
