A Leonard's Orkney Series postcard showing an Albert Street beginning to be taken over by plate-glass windows and signs. Lipton's, Gorn's and Morgan's on the right, Stewart and Heddle on the left. Some questions: is that a vending machine for roll films on the left?; what does the round light above the present-day hairdresers say? I think I can make out either "news" or "teas" at the bottom; and what was displayed behind the wire mesh on Morgan's wall? (not registrar's notices, for the registry office was at Hourston's). Coming up the street looks like an early Austin Seven with painted radiator, trying to avoid the deposit left on the street by the pony. Date estimated.
