This Sexton or Burying Beetle joined me in my kitchen earlier this evening (4 Sep 2014). I heard something alight on the floor, and there it was. From where? No idea, except it must have come in from outside at some point.
Anyhow, I'm not quite ready for burying, so I photographed it (not very successfully; my flash has stopped working) and shall release it in the morning. It appears to have a couple of mites clinging to its left 'shoulder'.
