Cartridge case found at Yesnaby

Cartridge case found at Yesnaby April 2014.
Lying on the ground presumably for the past 70-odd years.

Comments:
This is a British .303 cartridge case manufactured in 1941 at the Kynoch Factories of ICI. The G and II indicates that it is a Mk.II tracer round. During World War Two Yesnaby was known as the 'Northern Range' where military personnel and naval ratings carried anti-aircraft practice shooting at drogues being towed by target tug aircraft, hence the use of tracer ammunition.

My 7 year old son found a cartridge with the same year and markings on the shore of the Swannay loch a couple of weeks ago.
