But can you tell us the story behind the 'mystery stone' Cathleen?
Added by Ian Hourston on 14 September 2012
No Ian that was my reason for putting the photo on here - I hoped someone would tell me the story!
Added by Cathleen Spence on 21 September 2012
Let's hope someone does Cathleen. It's an intriguing little mystery.
Added by Ian Hourston on 21 September 2012
Went there this evening to see this artefact for myself. Surprised to find its greatest dimension is little more than 7"; somehow it looked bigger in your first photo Cathleen. Maybe I'll submit my photo, to help keep this thread alive until someone comes up with a bit of background.

Where about in the picture is it please?
Added by Barbara(Jolly) Watt on 25 September 2012
Barbara, it'll likely be too late to be of much use, but I'll submit Cathleen's pic with an arrow superimposed.
Added by Ian Hourston on 26 September 2012
It's on the biggest of the flat stones in the foreground.
Added by Cathleen Spence on 26 September 2012
Thank you Ian. Never too late. Won't be home this year to see it. Fingers crossed for next year.
