The picture shows the throng gathering for the 10K Sponsored Walk or Run, and 5K Sponsored walk in aid of diabetes research that took place in Flotta on Sunday 19th September. The event was organised and supported by Talisman Energy who own the oil terminal on the island, and it seemed to me as though about 300 people had come across from the mainland for the day. The weather was clear, brisk and windy, but lashed rain later, after the walking was over.
A good day seemed to be had by all, and more than �10,000 was raised.
