At the football pitch at Lyness

Coronation Year fun.

Madgie Stout with crossed arms beside Nan Rosie the Goalkeeper. She had a heart of gold, a super Longhope neighbour down in the village and my class mate Kathleen's mum, super times with Madgie on the moothie won't say much about Jock's home brew seemed to have an effect on my head when I went out in the fresh air and I hadn't had much of it that night - strong stuff. Mum was out of bed and sitting in the sitting room with the oil lamp screwed up the highest I had ever seen it and a bad sign as I tried to sneek in.

Comments:
Front Middle might this Edna Hamilton?-behind her is it- ? Thomson Terrys mum? and beside Madgie is it Alice Johnston? .
Only Fred or Jimmy might ken the answers here.

Fourth from left is Terry Thomsons mother,my auntie Ella Sutherland from West Moaness.Directly behind her ,I think is her cousin Marjorie Melsom, she stayed at Heathfields. Two to the right of Ella is her sister, my mother, Sylvia Sutherland, she was married to my father Bill Peace,he was from South Ronaldsay. He worked as a joiner at the base until 1957 when we moved to Caithness.
