DIY ID 2010

Steven, in the caption to your excellent pic #12751 you refer to the need for photo ID to board the NorthLink ferry. Here's an example of a credit-card-sized ID a local man made for himself (with mugshot, printed name and signature added of course) to satisfy NorthLink's requirements. It's perfectly honest: no-one can swear you are who you say you are more honestly than yourself. The owner has used it repeatedly on NorthLink without any problems ever since the date of issue by himself to himself. (Perhaps if they checked the reference, bottom right, they'd be a bit doubtful.)
Its owner would like to see if it's still usable after posting on OIL. Therefore he'd be grateful if, unlike NorthLink, you don't need 'proof' of his identity - nor mine, which could give a clue to his - before publishing the picture.

[I'd recognise the guy in the picture anywhere Ian - Steven]

Comments:
That's my cover pretty well blown then. As for Simon Cowell - whose silhouette you so easily recognised Steven - he'll never speak to me again if NorthLink reject his home-made ID in future. (People probably don't realise that for years Simon has been living incognito in Orkney. In my attic, actually. And it's true what they say: under that brash combative exterior there lies hidden a brash combative interior, especially when we both need the bathroom.)
