This is a rather faded newspaper cutting I recieved recently from a relative of Patty Matheson.
Patty lives in Burray and still has the bullets that injured him in his body to this day.
Patty is a great guy it does a bodie good to hiv a yarn wea Patty.
Sorry about the quality o the cutting bit hid is aboot 70 years old.

Comments:
I think the newspaper actually spelt his surname correctly John, but either way - good luck to him.

Think Pattie was wounded twice, once at El Alamein 1942 and also think he was a young teenager when he went off to war 15-16 yo ?

I would be grateful for any information on the following: I have a Peter Swannie Mathieson in my family tree. This Peter married Helen Scott who was/is my 5th cousin. Obviously this is not the same Peter in the picture but there must be a relationship between the two. The Peter in my trees parents were William Park Mathieson and Jessie Kathleen Norquay/Norquoy Any information would be much appreciated.
