Royal Visit 1960 - Kirkwall

Royal Visit 1960 - Kirkwall
Press photo of Royal Visit 1960 from a lot of old photos belonging to Edwin Eunson's widow Margaret who is clearing stuff out. Edwin is the last man on the right with his mother Jeannie beside him, I leave it to others for the rest, I only know one or two of them.

Comments:
The provost at the time was called Scott and the Lord Lieutenant was Scarth of Binscarth, wasn't it?

Cllr H McKerron visible between the two ladies walking alongside HRH Duke of Edinburgh. Cllr Jim Harrison proudly wearing his service medals can be seen between the Duke and the first lady at his side. Moving along towards the Cathedral the tall silver haired Councillor also wearing his medals is Tom Kelday. To the right of HRH Queen Elizabeth is Cllr Leitch (later Provost)

I presume the two ladies with Duke of Edinburgh must be the wives of Provost Scott and Lord Lieutenant Scarth, don't know who is who.
Added by Jim Eunson on 05 January 2012
The woman immediately to the Duke's right is Annie Scott, wife of the Provost.
Added by Iain Cormack on 19 June 2012
Lady on the Duke of Edinburghs right is Maggie Scott (nee Horne) the wife of Provost James Scott.
Regarding comment above Annie Scott was his daughter
James and Maggie Scott were my Great Grandparents.
