I believe I have this right..thanks google earth

My grandfathers brothers (JOHNSTON's) build a residence beside the memorial in Longhope..The memorial is partially visible in the left of both pictures.

I wonder what happened to the house..is a field now

John Budge will need to help me with this as my memory is a bit mixed up with this photo. Did Madgie and Jock Stout live in that house or the one Emily and Geordie Kirkpatrick were in which I'm sure was on the right of the memorial. I can remember standing in snow at the memorial on a Remembrance Day in the 1950's and Lizzie Taylor playing an organ at it. In later years Sammy Walls played the pipes and had a job getting up enough wind because he just had one lung but when he got going "The Flowers Of The Forest" never sounded better.

I remember this house standing here.

The thing that amuses me about the photograph is that what looks like an outside toilet is right by the entrance like a sentry box!!.
