John Rosie of Swona: hornpipe

This is a 'Hornpipe', for the Highland Bagpipes, written by Donald MacDonald at my request. John Rosie was born on Swona on the 30th November 1831 and is my wife Katrina Rosie's GGG Grandfather. On reading about this 'kind and gentle man who lived life by the day' that went to the Australian gold diggings and made enough money to build his house on S Ronaldsay. In his 90th year took his very small yole for a sail to Swona, misjudged the tide, ended up off Duncansby Head and had to sail all the way back to Swona arriving five hours later 'very tired'. I thought; there's a man who need to be remembered with a pipe tune.
